Our Employer of Record (EoR) / International PEO solutions enable staffing organisations and foreign businesses to expand into Ireland and hire employees without the need to establish a new corporate entity.
We take care of the entire employment relationship including managing all social security costs, social benefits and statutory rights afforded to the employee. The best part is that our EoR solutions are completely managed by the Capital GES team, allowing you to concentrate on international expansion.
Interested in doing business in Ireland? Here are the top five things you need to know:
1. Social security
Employer social contributions are approximately 11% of the gross remuneration. Employee social contributions total approximately 12% of the gross remuneration. There are no ceilings for employer’s and employee’s social contributions.
2. Employment contract details
There are no specific rules governing the language for employment contracts however all documents should be in English.
Contracts must be in writing and must include: work location, working pattern, job title, duration of contract, remuneration of employee and notice periods.
3. Fixed-term contract extensions
Fixed-term contracts can be renewed twice and total up to 4 years.
4. Termination costs
Severance pay is due according to the notice period. Notice periods range from 1 week for employment periods up to 2 years to 8 weeks as of the 15th year of employment. Additional compensation may be due if the court deems the dismissal as unfair or in cases of redundancy.
5. Probation Periods
Probation periods can be included in the employment agreement and are not limited in time. Common practice is to have between 3 and 6 months.
